William Black, aged 52, a life long resident of this city, died at his home in Gardendale last evening following a long illness of a complication of diseases. He had been in failing health for the past year and a half but had been bedfast only for the last week. He was a potter and well known throughout the city. Besides his wife, Mr. Black, is survived by the following children: Mrs. E.K. White, Mrs. E. Green, Ella M., Thomas, Lawrence and Anna, all of this city.

Note: He was the son of William James and Jane (McCune) Black and was born 25 November 1860 in Beaver County, PA. He married Ellen (Ella) Powell on 13 March 1888 in Indiana, PA.
