Obituary - William Bixby

William Bixby, aged 38, a well known potter, died shortly before midnight (October 4, 1905) at his home in St. George street, East End, of heart trouble, after a brief illness. He had not been feeling well for sometime but was able to be out on the street as late as Monday. His condition took a critical turn Tuesday and he continued to fail until the end came. The funeral arrangements will be made today.
Mr. Bixby was employed for the last 14 years as a jiggerman a the Harker pottery and was a competent workman, enjoying the esteem of the management and employes of the firm. He was a member of the jiggermen's local No. 12, of the N. V. of O. P. and also of the Eureka circle of the P. H. C. He is survived by a wife and three children, namely: Calvin, Willis and Robert: also by several brothers and sisters. One sister, Mrs. Rapp, of Allegheny, arrived here yesterday afternoon in response to a message stating her brother's critical illness, and another living in Cleveland, who has been an inmate of a hospital for several weeks, is expected this morning.
Mr. Bixby was a member of the German Lutheran Evangelical church and was very highly respected as a citizen and neighbor. The family has the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their bereavement.
