Mrs. Verna Baker, 433 Prospect Street, died Saturday (October 19, 1957) at 6 p.m. in the Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh following a one and one half years' illness. She was 66.

Mrs. Baker, who made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Georgia Fitch, was the widow of Charles O. Baker, who died June 2, 1956. She was born June 21, 1891, in Steubenville and had lived in East Liverpool for 40 years.

She leaves another daughter, Mrs. Clara Flint, and a son, Edwin Baker, both of East Liverpool; two brothers, John L. Johnson and Gail Johnson, also of East Liverpool; two sisters, Mrs. John Shannon of Midland and Mrs. Roy Hale of Fairmont, W. Va.; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Rites will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Martin Funeral Home by the Rev. Glen Brunstetter, pastot of the Pennsylvania Ave. Methodist Church.
