Thomas Smith Claimed at 93
Thomas Prichard Smith of 1659 Park Ave., a retired Steelworker died at
his home Saturday (December 26, 1959) at 7:35 pm after a long illness.
He was 93.
He was born June 25, 1866 in Mannington, West Virginia.
He was the son of the late Milton Smith and Mary Ellen (Hammer) Smith. He came here from Hamlin, WV in 1921. He retired in 1949 from the Midland Works of the Crucible Steel Co. where he was employed for 35 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and Local 1212 of the Steel workers of America.
His First wife Mrs. Nancy (Adkins) Smith, died in 1894. He married 3rd Mrs. Estella Adkins Smith in 1911. She survives at the home. Other survivors include a son
Leslie Smith of Smiths Ferry, Pennsylvania; 7 daughters, Mrs. Una Cumberledge of East Liverpool, Columbiana Co., Ohio, Mrs. Melva Dingess of Newell West Virginia, Mrs. Mary Hessman of New Whiteland, Indiana, Mrs. Nelda Daniels of Ohioville, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Amogean Coleman of Calcutta, Ohio, Mrs. Lena Adams of Fairview, Ohio Twp., Mrs. Leona Plumley of Midland, (Smiths Ferry) Pennsylvania; 32 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, and 4 great- great grandchildren.
