Robert Heffner Sr.

EAST Liverpool - Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday for Robert R. Heffner Sr., 81, who died Dec. 30, 2001, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

He was born Feb. 12, 1920, in Congo, W.Va., the son of the late Robert Roy and Nevada Mercer Heffner. He worked as a Heister driver at the former Globe Refractories in Newell. He served in the U. S. Army in World War II where he received a Purple Heart.

He is survived by four sons, Evert, Robert Jr., George "Snook", and Paul Heffner, all of East Liverpool; three daughters, Mary Gilliland of Chester, Mrs. Ed (Linda) Ray of East Liverpool and Donna Jackson of East Liverpool; two brothers, Frank Eugene Heffner of New Cumberland and Louis Hefner of East Liverpool; a sister, Helene Wilson of Congo; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Ryan Heffner; and three sons, Jim, Chuck and Joe Heffner. Services will be at the chapel at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens.
