Richard Hewitt, Dies In Congo
Richard Brown Hewitt, 76, a well known farmer of Hancock County, died at his home in Congo, W. Va., yesterday morning (January 4, 1912) at 3 o'clock, following a several month's illness. He was a bachelor, and is survived by two sisters, Mrs. A. P. Howard, of Congo, W. Va., and Mrs. Frank Dorington, of Pittsburgh.
He was a veteran of the civil war, having been a member of the Seventeenth Regiment of West Virginia.
The funeral services will be held at the home in Congo at 9:30 o'clock Saturday morning. They will be conducted by the Rev. J. C. Carpenter, of the Nessley Church.
The interment will be made at the Nessley Chapel Cemetery.
