Ray M. Springer, 80
EAST LIVERPOOL - Ray M. Springer, 80, formerly of Stagecoach Road, died
Friday, May 5, 1995, at the Alzheimer's Research Center in Columbiana
following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Cannons Mills, St. Clair Township, Nov. 23, 1914, a son
of the late James and Bertha Canon Springer.
He lived his life here. He was the owner of the former Z.L. Travis Inc.
of Steubenville. He also owned and operated several other trucking companies
in the area. He attended the Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the
Masonic Lodge 681 and was a 32nd degree member of the York Rite.
He is survived by three daughters, Gretchen Springer and Jennifer Gravis
of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Melanie Moore of East Liverpool; a stepson, David
L. Huffman of Phoenix, Ariz.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
The Rev. Dennis Braun of the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church will conduct
services at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Martin-Altmeyer Funeral Home. Burial
will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and before
the services Monday.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to
the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
