Nadine Mae Davis
Mrs. Nadine Mae Davis, age 71, of New Castle, DE, died on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Christiana Hospital.
Born in East Palestine, OH on February 29, 1936, Mrs. Davis was a daughter of the late James R. Patterson and Dorothy Kuhns Patterson. She was employed as a dietary aide and clerk at the Delaware State Hospital for over 14 years until her retirement in 1988. A devoted mother and talented homemaker, she especially enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Robert R. Davis; 4 children, Linda J. Tharp, of Middletown, Cheryl A. Bartell, of Elsmere, Wendy S. DeKalb, of Newark and Philip E. Davis, of Elkton; 3 stepsons, Robert A. Davis, of Elkton, James M. Davis, of Weirton, WV and Brian K. Davis, of Elkton; sister, Althea McPherson, of Waynesville, NC; 17 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene L. Truitt.
Friends may call 6-8 pm, on Sunday, March 11, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. A funeral service will be held at 11 am, on Monday, March 12, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
