Obituary -Mrs. William Banfield
East Liverpool Tribune

Word was received here yesterday afternoon of the death of Mrs. William Banfield, of Beaver, which occurred at 6:30 o'clock Monday morning (October 9, 1905) at the St. John's hospital at Pittsburg, where she had been taken the previous Wednesday to undergo an operation for the removal of a tumor. She was thought to be getting along nicely until Sunday night when a sudden change for the worse took place and the last spark of life ebbed away shortly after dawn.

Mrs. Banfield was about 45 years of age and was born in Washington, Pa., her maiden name being McFarland. She had lived at Beaver the past seven years where she was held in the highest esteem and had many warm friends. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church and during her lifetime exemplified many Christian virtues.

She is survived by her husband and the following children: Harold, James, Walter, Kemp, Wallace, Judson and Wilda. The funeral arrangements will be announced today.

The news of Mrs. Banfield's death was received with deep regret in this city and Chester where she well known. Mr. Banfield built the Chester tin mill and also the new plant at Follansbee in which he is the controlling stockholder.
