Mrs. Cyrus Burlingame, 62, died in the City Hospital yesterday afternoon from burns sustained when her dress ignited from an open gas fire at her home, Grace and Daisy Alleys. Mrs. Robert Davidson, 30, her daughter, who was burned in an attempt to beat out the fire with her bare hands, is recovering. Mrs. Burlingame had resided in East Liverpool since she was a child, coming here with her parents from Rochester, PA., where she was born. She is survived by her husband, a Daisy Alley carpet cleaner and former liveryman, and four daughters and one son: Mesdames Fred Earl and Robert Davidson of this city, and Miss Mabel Burlingame at home; Mrs. Joseph Martin, Cleveland and Odis Burlingame, near Williamsport, Madison Township. One sister, Mrs. Albert Brown of Gardendale, also survives. Mrs. Burlingame was a member of the First Church of Christ. The body was removed to the Miller Funeral Home, Sixth Street, where services will be conducted, probably Monday afternoon.
Note: Adelaide (Black) Burlingame was the daughter of William and Jane (McCune) Black. She was born 15 September 1864 and was married to Cyrus Burlingame 29 Sep 1883.
