Mrs. Melinda Cochrane, aged 74, one of the oldest residents in the city, died Sunday evening (October 1, 1905) at the home of her son, George H. Cochrane, 122 Basil avenue, of paralysis. She had been in poor health for the past two years, but her condition did not reach a critical stage until five weeks ago. The funeral will be held at the home at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon, the Rev. Edwin McMillin, pastor of the First Presbyterian church , officiating. Interment will be made in Riverview cemetery.

Mrs. Cochrane was born in Starke county and moved to this city with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Orr, when only seven years of age. While not a regular memberof the First Presbyterian church she attended that church regularly and had lived a consistent Christian life. She had a wide circle of friends and was highly esteemed and respected. She is survived by the following children: J. S. Cochrane, of Chester; George H. Cochrane, of Basil avenue; Louis Cochrane, of Fifth street; Mrs. William Harrison, of Gardendale; also by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. William Vennor, of East Palestine; John Orr, of Columbiana; William Orr and Mrs. Thomas Bowman, of this city.
