Mrs. Mary McMillan
Mrs. Mary McMillan, possibly one of the most widely known women in this city, died at her home at 163 Jackson street, Monday.
Mrs. McMillan, who was known to all generations living in this city as "Aunty" McMillan, was 82 years of age. She has suffered from a complication of diseases for several years. Deceased was born in Trumball county and came to this city about thirty years ago, immediately after the death of her daughter. Her husband died in Michigan about fifty years ago.
Immediately after coming to this city, Mrs. McMillan took up her residence with her sister, Mrs. R. E. Taylor, mother of Col. John N. Taylor, and since that time the two ladies have lived together. Mrs. Taylor survives her sister and is 90 years old. Another sister, Mrs. Olive Stillman, aged 88 years, resides at the home of her daughter, Mrs. McLean, in Chester.
For years Mrs. McMillan was one of the most active members of the M. P. church of this city, but before the close of her church work career, Mrs. McMillan joined the Christian church, with which denomination she had been connected before coming to this city.
The funeral services were held at the late residence on Jackson street, at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Walter Mansell, of the Christian church, and Rev. W. H. Gladden, of the M. P. church, officiated at the service. Interment was made in Riverview cemetery.
