East Liverpool Tribune

Miss Mary J. Moncrief died a the home of her nephew, Mr. George V. Moncrief, of near Augusta, Carroll county, on June 9, 1911, aged 69 years, 9 months. She was born and reared in Columbiana county near West Beaver church on the farm on which General Morgan was captured at time of his raid through Ohio during the Civil war.

At the age of 15 years she joined the United Presbyterian church at Glade Run, during the ministry of the Rev. Boyd, and has remained a consistant member of the United Presbyterian church during the past 55 years of her life. In 1880 she went to the home of Mr. J. W. Binsley, where she remained until February, 1910, when she went to the home of her nephew, Mr. George Moncrief, of Augusta, to spend the remaining days of her life. She had been a great sufferer since going there, having that dread disease, cancer. But she has the kindest care that could have been given her, being a good Christian and having the true faith in her heavenly Father, she has borne her sufferings patiently without a complaint.
