Deceased took sick the first of April, last, and her condition seemed gradually to weaken until it was found necessary to remove her to the City hospital where she underwent an operation. Some time later the couple moved to Jefferson county, and then to this city, where they have resided for almost seven years. Prof. Hawkins being principal of the Sixth street school. Deceased has been practically a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church and since residing here has been a member and faithful worker of the Second Presbyterian church.
