Louise Pierson Smith, 74, former pottery decorator
East Liverpool- Mrs. Louise Pierson Smith, 74 of Avondale Street, was
pronounced dead on arrrival Friday morning at City Hospital after a
short illness.
She was born Dec. 11, 1907 in England, the daughter of Mrs. Annie
Lightbown Hinks and the late Alfred Hinks. She had resided in this area
for 50 years.
A decorator at the Homer Laughlin China Co., for 10 years before
retiring in 1968, she was a member of the Second Church of Christ,
Ceramic Rebekah Lodge No 286, East Liverpool Lodge No 379 IOOF, Senior
Citizens, Goldenaires, the Jolly 60's and the International Brotherhood
of Pottery and Allied Workers.
Her first husband, Charles M Pierson, preceded her in death on July 31,
1972.
In addition to her mother of Warren, she is survived by her second
husband, Clarence Smith; three sons, Charles M Pierson of Hampton, NH,
George H Pearson of Ossippe, NH, and Alfred J of East Liverpool, a
stepson, James Smith of East Liverpool; a step daughter, Mrs George
Alberta Walton of Steubenville; a sister, Mrs Richard (Hilda) Liptak of
Warren; nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, seven
stepgrandchildren, 18 step great grandchildren and two step great grrat
grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:30 pm Monday at the Martin Funeral home with
the Rev. John mattis of Glenmoor United Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will be at the Columbiana County Memorial Park. Friends may call
Sunday afternoon and evening at the funeral home, where the senior
citizens will hold a service at 6:30 pm Sunday.
