Ex-Salineville Mayor Taken By Heart Attack

SALINEVILLE - Joseph F. Burns, 57 Main St., a former mayor of Salineville and a grocer here for 45 years, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home Saturday (Feb. 22, 1958) at 2 p.m.

Mr. Burns served there terms as mayor here, leaving his office in 1947. A native of Salineville, he was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the IOOF Lodge, and Cable Rebekah Lodge, all of Salineville.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Pearl McIntosh Burns at home; a son, Francis O. burns of Millport; two sisters, Miss Marguerite Burns and Mrs. Paul Strabley of Salineville; a brother, Charles Burns of Monaca, and a grandson.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Maple Funeral Home in Kensington by the Rev. Boyd S. Burd, pastor of the Bethesda Presbyterian Church at Millport.

Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery near Salineville.
