John Curran
John Curran, a well known citizen, died at 9:40 o'clock yesterday morning at his home, 404 Jethro street, from a complication of diseases. He had not been in good health for some time before his death. He was 61 years old and was born at Douval's Dam, Washington county. He came to East Liverpool from Salineville about 15 years ago and was a coal miner by occupation.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Aloysius church, the Rev. Father Smythe officiating. Interment will be made in the Catholic cemetery. Mr. Curran raised a large family and was very well thought of by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife and the following children: James, of Point Pleasant; John, of Pittsburg; James and Robert, of this city; Mrs. Annie Boyd, of Pittsburg; Mrs. Jennie Hoskins, of Wheeling; Mrs. Rosa Surles and Mrs. Mary Goppert, of this city. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Michael, Peter and Owen Curran, of this city; Frank and Patrick Curran, of West Newton, Pa.; Mrs. Mary A. White, of Point Pleasant; Mrs. Kate Meister, of Marrieta; Mrs. Bridget Richey, of Wheeling.
