KILLED BY A FALL

Wellsville Man Lost His Life While Hunting Coons.

Jesse Galloway, 53 years old, who lived just above the second mill dam up Little Yellow creek near Wellsville, lost his life while hunting coons Thursday night. He fell from a tree into which he had climbed after a coon, and received injuries from which he died in half an hour. Galloway, who was in stringent circumstances, leaves a widow and a family of seven children. The oldest child is 18 years old and the youngest a babe of two months.

Yesterday morning when Harrison S. Rinehart, the paving contractor, heard of the circumstances in the case he started out with a subscription paper which he lead with a donation himself. He got S. W. Conner to help him make a canvass of Third street and the neighborhood. At 1 o'clock in the afternoon Rinehart and Conner had secured subscriptions accounting to $50, and expect to make the sum $100, which will be given to the Galloway family.
