Obituary - James K. Mayes

James K. Mayes, aged about sixty years, died yesterday morning (November 2, 1905) at his home in East Palestine. He had been in poor health for a year, but death was directly due to an abscess of the stomach. The funeral services will be held at the United Presbyterian church of Calcutta Saturday afternoon at one o'clock. The remains will be brought from East Palestine to Calcutta Saturday morning.
Mr. Mayes had for years lived near Cannon's Mills and was a farmer by occupation. He was the only son of Samuel Mayes, deceased. About two months ago he moved with his family to East Palestine. He is survived by a wife and six children. They are: Anthony, of Philadelphia, Pa.; Alden, of Ft. Davis, Tex.; Marion, of Negley; Mrs. Mabel Ramsey, of Calcutta, and Frank and Carrie at home. The deceased is a cousin of Henry Abrams, of this city, and was well known to many in East Liverpool.
