Lisbon, March 23 -Jacob Culler, a well known and highly respected resident of Elkton and Elkrun township for many years, died suddenly in the woods on the farm of his son-in-law C. K. Dickey, near Signal, at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning (March 23, 1911). He had been at his daughter's home for several weeks and about 11 o'clock he went to the woods, a short distance from the house, where a number of men were engaged cutting timber. He talked to the men about ten minutes when he fell to the ground and expired almost immediately. Death was due to heart failure.

Deceased was 73 years old, a life long resident of Columbiana county. He was born in December 1837, on a farm near East Palestine, as son of Abram and Elizabeth Hooker Culler. He was united in marriage with Miss Hannah Phillips and they began housekeeping in Elkton where they lived for many years. Mrs. Culler's death occurred twenty-one years ago, and deceased has since made his home among his children. For the past 27 years he has been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Elkton and one of the prominent workers in the church. Deceased is survived by two sons and five daughters as follows: William Culler, Elkton, John, Lisbon, Mrs. Dickey, near Signal, Mrs. W. J. Adams, Rogers, Mrs. Samuel Finch, Lisbon, Mrs. Merle Martin, Elkton, and Mrs. Kate Dickinson, Niles. He is also survived by three sisters and five brothers, Frank, and Joseph Culler, of California, William, Hicksville, Abram, Columbiana, Benjamin, Elkton, Mrs. Marie Barnett, Signal, Mrs. Samantha Garwood, and Mrs. Eliza Welker, Lisbon. The time of the funeral has not yet been set.
