Herbert Hood

Herbert H. Hood, 1100 St. George St., a World War I veteran, died this morning at 9 at City Hospital after a long illness. He was 69.

Born in Washington County, he was the son of Mrs. Margaret Moore Hood of East Liverpool and the late Louis A. Hood. He lived here 45 years.

He formerly was employed in the slip house of the Sterling China Co., retiring in 1943. He was a member of American Legion Post 4 and Pvt. Eddy Post 66, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Besides his mother, he leaves his widow, Mrs. Cordelia Baker Hood, at home; three brothers, George W. Hood, James Hood and Ernest Hood, all of East Liverpool and four sisters, Mrs. Jean Higgins of Steubenville, Mrs. Bessie Smith of Wellsville, and Mrs. Grace Argabrite and Mrs. Ruth Johnson, both of East Liverpool.

The Dawson Funeral Home is arranging services.
