H. DOSS HUFFMAN DIES SUDDENLY
Well Known Hotel Man succumbs to An Attack of
Heart Trouble Early This Morning
H. Doss Huffman, aged 51 years, one of the city's most prominent residents and for the past twenty-three years proprietor of the Washington House, corner of Second and Washington streets, was called by death shortly before 1 o'clock this morning (July 2, 1911). Although deceased had been suffering with heart trouble for the past six weeks, his condition had seemed to improve somewhat and his death last evening, came unexpectedly. He retired last evening stating that he expected to have a good nights sleep.
Mr. Huffman was born at Matamoras, O., and lived in that vicinity until moving to this city about 23 years ago. Locating here he went into the hotel business, opening up the Washington House, which establishment he conducted up until the time of his death.
Besides his wife, deceased is survived by two sisters and four brothers: Mrs. Minnie Brown, Mrs. Dora Sutors and John and Robert Huffman, all of Matamoras; Lafe Huffman, Kentucky; Will Huffman, Colorado, and George Huffman, Idaho.
