GEORGE GEHRING
NEW CUMBERLAND - George W. Gehring, 78, of the Hancock House at
720 Third Ave. died Tuesday evening at Ohio Valley Hospital in Steubenville
following a lengthy illness.
A New Cumberland native, he was born Jan. 4, 1906, a son of the late George
Gehring and Mary Hunter Gehring.
Mr. Gehring was retired from the Weirton Steel Co., and was a Methodist by
faith.
He is survived by his wife, Frances N. Johnson Gehring, at home; a son Ronald
Gehring of Portsmouth, Va., two daughters, Mrs. James (Pamela) Rowand of
Norfolk, Va. and Miss Salli Gehring of Long Beach, Calif. and five grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday
at the Turley Funeral Home, where services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Friday with
pastor Eugene Iaquinto of the Free Methodist Church of New Cumberland officiating.
Burial will be in New Cumberland Cemetery.
