George Buchanan
George P. Buchanan, 55, of 2012 Crawford St., a craneman at the Midland
Works of the Crucible Steel Co., died Sunday at 11:05 p.m. at City
Hospital after an illness of seven weeks.
He was born in East Liverpool, Feb. 10, 1911, son of the late Charles
Buchanan and Naomi Pierson Buchanan. He lived in the vicinity all his
life. he was employes at the Midland plant 22 years and last worked on
April 23. He was a member of Steelworkers Union 1212.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Florence Buchanan, and a daughter, Gerry Helen
Buchanan, both at home; four brothers, Charles L. Buchanan of Gallatin,
PA., James Buchanan and Ralph Buchanan, both of East Liverpool, and
Clifford Buchanan of Palm Desert, Calif., four sisters, Mrs. Arthur
(Elsie) Mays, Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Adams and Norman (Pauline) Kennedy,
all of East Liverpool and Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Sherlock of Coshocton.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m., at the Martin Funeral Home by
Rev. Charles Taylor of the Friendship Gospel Tabernacle. Burial will be
in the Calcutta United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday.
