Obituary - Frederick Wilson Burnett
East Liverpool Tribune

Information of the death of Frederick Burnett was received in East Liverpool yesterday afternoon (November 3, 1903) and came as a great shock to the host of friends in Wellsville, East Liverpool and Chester who knew the young man and were deeply grieved at the news of his demise. His death occurred in the Presbyterian hospital at Allegheny about 2 o'clock Tuesday morning and was due to an operation for appendicitis which was made last Sunday in an effort to save his life.

Mr. Burnett suffered an attack of appendicitis about ten days ago, and it was decided to remove him to the Presbyterian hospital where skilled physicians might operate upon him. When he left this city a short time ago he was in the best of health, and even when removed to the hospital showed little sign of the terrible disease from which he suffered.

The deceased was about 30 years of age and the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Burnett, a well known and respected family of Wellsville. His early education was received in the schools of his native city and later he took a commercial course at Scio college. Mr. Burnett enjoyed the reputation of being one of the most skilled accountants in this country. His first employment was with the American Sheet Steel Co. at Wellsville and later he filled positions with credit for the same company at Chester, Columbus, New York and Pittsburg.

He was a young man of many good qualities which endeared him to those who knew him. He lived the greater part of his life in this vicinity and he leaves four sons, all living in Liverpool where he made his residence during his employment at Chester. At the time of his death he was employed at Leetsdale by the Ritter-Conley Co. and made his home at Sewickley. He is survived by his brothers, John L. Burnett, of Columbus and Fletcher and Walter Burnett of Pittsburg, and his parents.

The remains arrived in Wellsville yesterday evening and were taken to the home of his parents. The funeral arrangements have not been perfected and will be announced later.
