Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Cannon Funeral Home in Midland for Mrs. Faye Shannon, 73, of 5 Carnegie Dr., Midland, who died Friday (October 19, 1973) at 6:55 p.m. at the Lirrle Forest Medical Center in Youngstown after a long illness.

Mrs. Shannon, widow of John R. Shannon, was born in West Virginia Oct. 3, 1900. She had resided in Midland more than 38 years, coming from East Liverpool. Mrs. Shannon had been employed as a telephone operator for the Bell Telephone Co. in East Liverpool. She was known in the area for her talent of making original hats for women, and had presented many programs for clubs and organizations.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Midland and its Queen Esther Class. Her husband died in June.

Survivors include a son, John R. Shannon, Jr., of Macungie, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. James (Kathleen) Kelly of the Y & O Rd., Wellsville, RD1; a half brother, Oscar Johnson of Sistersville, W. Va., five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
