E. C. (Curly) Harsha, 83, of 48786 Calcutta-Smiths Ferry Rd. was dead on arrival at City Hospital today (March 3, 1977) at 6 a.m. He had taken ill at home.
He was born Aug. 19, 1893, in East Liverpool a son of Miller Harsha and Stella Karcher Harsha and had resided in this area his lifetime.
Mr. Harsha had been a moldmaker at Plant 8 of the Homer Laughlin China Co. for 65 years, retiring in 1972.
Mr. Harsha was a member of the Calcutta United Presbyterian Church and the IBPAW for 61 years.
He is survived by his widow, Stella Flint Harsha, whom he married Dec. 26, 1914; two sons, James V. Harsha and Thomas R. Harsha, and a daughter, Mrs. Ila Horger, all of Calcutta; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Veitch of the church officiating. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon and evening.
