Local Man Claimed by Sudden Illness
Ellis Buchanan Dies After Removal to Hospital
Ellis Robert Buchanan, 43, of 419 College Street, died Monday at 9:25 p.
m. in City hosiptal shortley after he was stricken with a heart attack
while at Second and Union Streets.
Patrolman John Russell, who was summoned after Mr. Buchanan became ill,
ordered him removed to the hospital. He was admitted at 9:20 and died in
five minutes.
Mr. Buchanan was born in Wirt County, W. Va, and was employed by the
Mackintosh - Hemphill Co., at Midland. He was a member of the Eagles
Lodge. He leaves his mother, Mrs. Naomi Pierson Buchanan of East
Liverpool; five brothers, Charles L Buchanan of Gallatin, PA; James
Buchanan, George Buchanan and Ralph Buchanan of East Liverpool, and Pvt
Clifford Buchanan in Germany, and four sisters, Mrs. Elsie Mays of
Orangeville, Mrs. Ruth Sherlock of Coshocton, and Mrs. Helen Adams and
Mrs. Pauline Kennedy of East Liverpool.
Funeral services will be held in Longs Run Presbyeterian church Thursday
at 2 p.m. by Rev. Stanley Pugh, pastor of the Oaklnad Free Methodist
church. Burial will be held in the Longs Run Cemetery. Friends may call
Wednesday night at the Martin Funeral home.
