Obituary - Edwin Coch
East Liverpool Tribune
Edwin Coch of Salineville, died at 3 o'clock yesterday (December 10, 1903) afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Podwell, Pennsylvania avenue, East End, where he had been visiting for a week. The body will be taken to Salineville Saturday morning and the funeral will take place from his late home Sunday.
Mr. Coch, who was in his 71st year, has been in failing health fro some time. Believing that a short change would benefit him he came to this city about one week ago to visit his daughter in the East End, his wife having come here a few days before on a visit. A few days after his arrival here he was compelled to give up and go to bed and from that time his condition had become gradually worse until yesterday afternoon when the attending physician held out no hope for his recovery.
Mrs. Podewell at once sent telephone messages to her sisters who live in California, Pa., and Cambridge, O., summoning them to the bedside of their father. She hardly returned home from the telephone station in Baird's drug store, when the aged man expired.
Mr. Coch was a well known resident of Salineville where he had resided for a number of years.
