Donald Black, 58, Retired Expediter
WELLSVILLE-Donald E. "Blackie" Black, 58, of Broadway died Tuesday afternoon, March 27, 1990, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown where he was taken after becoming stricken at home Saturday morning.

He was born in Parkersburg, W. Va., Oct.11, 1931, a son of the late Roy Ralph Black and Margaret Perkins Black.

A resident of Wellsville most of his lifetime, Mr. Black was employed 29 years at the former Crucible Steel Co. before retiring as an expediter in July 1982. He had served with the U. S. Air Force, and attended the Oakland Free Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer, and was a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1040, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 66, American Legion Post 374, and the Midland American Legion Post.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce A. Lee Black, whom he married March 12, 1954; a son, Mark Steven Black of Wellsville; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Terrie) Renner of Wellsville and Miss Lisa Donn Black, at home; a sister, Mrs. Patsy Black Allison of East Liverpool; and a grandson.

The Rev. Dr. H. Gene Toot of the Trinity Presbyterian Church is to conduct services at 11 a.m. Friday at the Martin-MacLean Funeral Home. Burial is to be in Spring Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home form 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. An Elks service is at 7:30.
