Obituary - David B. Shelton

David B. Shelton, one of the most prosperous farmers in this vicinity for many years, died at his home three miles east of Lisbon on the Hanover road, at 6:30 o'clock Tuesday evening (March 28, 1911), following a stroke of paralysis which he suffered during the morning. He had been in ill health for three years past, being a victim of Bright's disease, and last Wednesday was stricken with paralysis. He had barely recovered from the effects of that stroke when the second one came, and he remained in an unconscious condition until death came.
Deceased was a son of Samuel and Elizabeth Shelton and was born April 13, 1842, on the old Shelton farm at Shelton's grove. He has always been a resident of Columbiana county and for the past 27 years he has resided on the farm where his death occurred. In early life he was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Atterholt, who with the following children survive; Charles Shelton, of Canton, Frank and Mrs. Alice Lee of Pittsburg, and Miss Eva, a student at Mt. Union college. The funeral will occur form the home on Friday morning at 10 o'clock, and will be conducted by the Rev F. I. Dunbar of the Methodist Episcopal church, of which the deceased had been a member for many years. Interment will be made in the Lisbon cemetery.
