DEATH WAS SUDDEN
Mrs. Cynthia Hood, of Hookstown Was Fatally Prostrated Monday.
Mrs. Cynthia Hood, aged 70, was fatally prostrated Monday evening at her home a short distance east of Hookstown in the vicinity of Servis, Pa., her death being immediate and shocking. About a week ago Mrs. Hood had suffered a fall, but had not been considered in dangerous condition. She had been able to walk around the house. A daughter, Mrs. John Fleming, on going to her mother's room found her mother unconscious and dying.
Efforts to revive the patient were futile. Mrs. Hood was one of the most highly respected and honored residents of the vicinity of Hookstown. A son, Samuel Hood, and a daughter, Mrs. John Fleming, survive. The deceased was a devout member of the U. P. church.
Funeral services will be conducted from the late residence at 10 o'clock this morning. The remains will be buried in the Servis cemetery.
(Note - died on September 15, 1902)
