ONE OF WELLSVILLE'S OLDEST CITIZENS DIES
Catherine M'Bane, 94, Lived Most of Life Near Here
Mrs. Catherine McBane, 94, on of Wellsville's oldest, if not the oldest, residents, died at the home of her son, Alexander A. McBane, at 1519 Clark avenue late Thursday afternoon (August 19, 1937) following an illness of infirmities of old age.
Mrs. McBane was born in Pennsylvania, but spent almost her lifetime in Yellow Creek township and Wellsville. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church and was active in church work until failing health forced her retirement. She was widely known throughout the community.
Besides Alexander A. McBane, she is survived by one stepson, J. W. McBane of Cleveland; one granddaughter, Miss Katherine McBane, also of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in the MacLean funeral home in 509 Riverside avenue, Wellsville, Saturday at 2:30 p. m. in charge of Rev. Isaac K. Teal, pastor of the First Presbyterian church. Burial will be made in Yellow Creek cemetery.
