Carl R. Pierson. 70
Wellsville- Carl R. Pierson, 70, of Sixth Street Wellsville, died on
Wednesday, May 17, 2006, in the Emergency Room at East Liverpool City
Hospital after becoming suddenly ill.
A son of the late Carl L. and Geraldine Hull Pierson, he was born on
Aug. 27, 1935, in East Liverpool.
Pentecostal by faith, Carl retired as an electronic technician from
Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort.
An avid golfer, he graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1954.
His first wife Betty J. peyton preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Hess Smith Pierson, at home; four
sons, Dan Pierson and Teresa, Jon Pierson, James Pierson, and Darlene
and Rob Pierson, all of Florida; five stepsons, Gary Smith and Janet of
Virginia Beach, Va., Dean Smith and Deb od Wellsville, Chip Smith and
Melissa of East Liverpool, Michael Smith and Cyrstal of Wellsville, and
Dwaine Smith and Missy of Wellsville.
His stepmothers, Dortha Pierson of Alliance, and his brother, William
"Tuck" Pierson and Sue of Wadsworth, Ohio, also survive.
Surviving grandchildren include, Christopher, Tyler, Jarred, Tara,
Jennifer, Gretchen, Dean, Lori, Tony, Heather, Melissa, Nicole and Kristen.
There are also 12 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday at the Arner Funreal
Chapel in Chester with Rev. Gary lemasters officiating. Burial will be
in Riverview Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends 1 -
2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to
the Robert Bycroft School in Lisbon.
