Boyd Hughes Claimed At 59

Boyd Hughes, 1822 Buckeye Ave., Wellsville, died Monday at 12:30 p.m. at City Hospital where he had been a patient since Saturday after suffering a heart attack at his home. He was 59.

He was born March 16, 1900, in Gallipolis Ferry, W. Va., the son of the late Fred and Mary Jordan Hughes and reside in Wellsville for 54 years.

Mr. Hughes had been employed for 26 years at the Midland Works of the Crucible Steel Co., most of the time as a rougher. He worked last on Friday but had been in ill health for several months.

Mr. Hughes was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He served in the Marine Corps during World War I.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Bertha Milhoan Hughes; two step-sons, Benjamin Lee of East Liverpool and Harry Lee of Williamsburg, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Henry of Gallipolis Ferry and Mrs. Helen Laughley of Chester, and three brothers, Orville Hughes of Wellsville, Ernest Hughes of Salineville and Howard Hughes of Ravenna.

Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church by Fr. John F. Lyons. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth's Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday night at the MacLean Funeral Home.
