James C. Board, 69, of Hiers Corner Road died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at Colleton Medical Center.
He was born in Weirton, June 2, 1928, a son of the late Lebert Franklin and Victoria Perkins Board.
He was employed at Besteel Corporation as a truck driver before retirement. He was a veteran of service with the U. S. Marines and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Kleman Board.
He is survived by a son, Timothy Board of Titusville, Fl.; two daughters, Laurie Harvey and Teresa (Terry) Parler of Walterboro; a brother, John D. (Jack) Board of Toronto; a sister, Frances B. (Fran) Laughlin of Toronto; and seven grandchildren.
The Revs. Gerald Mabry and Ken McCaskill will conduct the services at 2 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home. Full military honors will be accorded in Doctor's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
