Beverly Jean Springer, 64
Follansbee - Beverly Jean Springer, 64 of Follansbee, a former resident
of the Hancock House of New Cumberland, went to be with the Lord Feb. 17,
2002, at home following a brief illness.
She was born May 25, 1937 in East Liverpool, Ohio, the daughter of the
late Gerald and Audra (Simmons) Springer. Beverly worked for many years in
the pottery industry, starting at Harker China in Chester and most recently
retiring from the Homer Laughlin China Co. as a quality control inspector in
1992.
She is survived by five children; Monte Springer of Eureka, Calif.,
Jacqeuline Simms of Irondale, Ohio, Tammy Moffo of Follansbee, W. Va., with
whom she resided, Gordon Springer of Bridgeport, Ohio, and Laurie Bland of
Newell.
Also surviving, a brother, David Allen Springer of Henrietta, Texas; 12
grandghildren; 1 great-granddaughter; one niece; and several aunts, uncles
and cousins.
Also special mention to her companion, Kenneth Gillespie of Newell.
Many friends aquired along her way, never a stranger did she meet.
Friends and family will be received at Nixon Funeral Home, 614
Washington St., Newell, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral
home with Pastor Carl Smith officiating. Internment will follow at Locust
Hill Cemetery, Chester.
