EAST LIVERPOOL - Bertha Lenora Heffner, 81, of Almont Street died Thursday, May 10, 2001, at the East Liverpool Convalescent Center after a lengthy illness.

She was born Dec. 31, 1919, in Stumpton, W.Va., a daughter of the late Major and Emma Stump Ryan.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Northside Community Church.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Heffner; four sons, Evert Heffner, Robert Heffner Jr., George "Snook" Heffner and Paul Heffner, all of East Liverpool; three daughters, Mary Gilliland of Chester, Mrs. Linda (Ed) Ray and Dona Jackson both of East Liverpool; one brother, Robert J. Ryan of Chester; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Jim Heffner, Chuck Heffner and Joe Heffner.

Pastor Larry Rose of the Northside Community Church will conduct services at 1 p.m. Saturday Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens.

Friends may call an hour before the services.

The Arner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
