Alonzo Brown, 70, retired from TS&T
East Liverpool- Alonzo D. Brown, age 70, of Annesley Road, East
Liverpool, died Oct. 25 at 2:55 p.m. at City Hospital after a one month
illness.
He was born in St. Marys, W. Va., on Sept. 17, 1921, the son of the late
Alonzo Albert Brown and Gertrude Full Brown. He lived in the area since
1933.
He was employed as a foreman in the glaze department of the former
Taylor Smith and Taylor pottery for 20 years, retiring in 1976.
He was also a 1939 graduate of the Wells High School in Newell, and
attended two years of business college.
He was Baptist by faith and was a member of Lodge 142 Free & Accepted
Masons of Chester.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline F. Buchanan Brown on Dec.
9 1987. They were married Dec. 31, 1974.
Survivors include a son, Master Gunnery Sargeant Alonzo W. Brown of
Louisville, Ky; two sisters, Mrs. Marilyn (Jack) Dixon of Melbourne,
Fla., and Mrs. Norman (Lee) Blakely of Wellsville; two grandchildren and
one great- grandchild.
Services will be held at the Martin Funeral Home in East Liverpool at 1
p. m. Monday with the Rev. Steve Alexander of the First Christian Church
of Wellsville officiating.
Burial will follow in Locust Hill Cemetery in Chester where Masonic
Services will be held by the Chester Lodge 142. Friends may call at the
funeral home from noon to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
