Alfred Holt Hr, 69, of Echo Dell Rd., Calcutta, died at 3:55 a.m. Sunday at the East Liverpool Extended Care Center where he was admitted Saturday after he was transferred from Magee Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born in East Liverpool October 18, 1916, a son of the late Alfred Holt, Sr. and Lillian Blackstock Holt.
Mr. Holt was employed 32 years as a meter engineer at the Columbia Gas Co., and served with the Engineers Corps in Europe with the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Campground Community Church, American Legion Post 374, Elks Lodge 258 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 66.
He is survived by his wife, June Reese Holt, at home, a son, Raymond "Rusty" Holt of Erie, Pa.; a stepson, Joseph May of Ft. Hood, Texas; and three sisters, Mrs, Lillian Johnson of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. June Wilson of Altamonte Springs, Fla., and Mrs. Gertrude Owens of Downards Grove, Ill.
The Rev. Bob Gray is to conduct services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial is to be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
